![]() The thing they all have in common is that I get to feature threads while prominently displaying photos from those threads in a resized but uncropped format that gives a nice view of the images themselves. So would the one that Kevin showed in his post. In the second example, you could scroll down to see different featured posts, eg: Įither of those examples would work for me. Prior to Dadparvar's addon, I used Brogan's addon alone to have a front page like this (again, ignore the sidebar): (On the plus side, Nate's posts only take up one or two lines on the big screen. Here's an example of how one of my sites' front page used to look using an addon from to modify the appearance of Brogan's addon (ignore the sidebar, which I can reproduce using Xenforo functionality): And, with today's widescreen monitors (I've got 2560 pixels), giving posts the full browser width makes things just too wide to read. The thick-thin font is hard to read - I keep thinking there's a smudge on my glasses or something (and I'm not wearing any). On the PC, it's, so far, a pretty poor experience - at least for this lurker. (On the plus side, Nate's posts only take up one or two lines on the big screen.) ![]() ![]() (Except the dang pop-up/blinky/skittish scroll arrows in the LR corner a freakin' annoying.) It's like being able to listen in on a bunch of conversations all at once instead of having to go around opening doors to see what's happening (in a place where it otherwise looks as if nothing is happening). ![]() As a result, I read (and even posted in!) more threads than I would have otherwise. My favorite TT feature is the preview of the last post in the thread - often reveals more about the content of the thread than the title and provides an instant update on the status/evolution of the thread without needing to *do* anything (e.g., can easily see that Sixie just added some more smilies, no need to open the thread). I know y'all don't care, but I'm really missing TapaTalk. I don't track these girly things very well. but once in a while she has falsies on I guess. (Nurses don't keep them very long, either. I don't think you keep your fingernails long, but I'd joke with Karen if she were doing it, since shes always tapping things on touch screens with her nails when they're long enough. They have these things called Apps, and they work REALLY well. where I usually don't go in the office much anymore and sit at a computer. I have 12 others to read in a UI that doesn't get in the way and fully integrates with iOS, and works. Not because the people or content are in any way deficient. PoA is quickly going to become my least read site. This having to fiddle with a web interface and try to avoid clicking on stuff like avatar pop-ups is really wasting my time on iPhone. It is a UI designed to read content only, across multiple sites, and do it FAST. PoA chose to remove themselves from the fastest UI for reading 13 sites I've ever had. The all sites at once thing is awesome if you track multiple topics and forums. and screen real estate is needed for thumb sized buttons. all with behavior very similar to Mail, including last post test preview under each thread. Could slam through 50-100 threads with new posts in two or three minutes. then right at the top of the list, so easy. I did on TT, but it was because there was a tab that showed ALL UNREAD, no matter where in the site, in fact, you could look at all UNREAD across ALL OF YOUR SITES AT ONCE if you wanted, and the navigation buttons never leave either the list screen nor the thread screen, so you can always go back to the list from the thread without having to find a way back.Ĭlick on thread, scroll to read/skim, maybe reply to something, click back button that is ALWAYS at the top left on ALL screens in the SAME place, and when you got back to the thread list, the THREAD DISAPPEARS FROM SCREEN BECAUSE IT'S NOW ALREADY READ. This may sound OCD, but do you literally look at EVERY new thread? Click to expand.I don't think you keep your fingernails long, but I'd joke with Karen if she were doing it, since shes always tapping things on touch screens with her nails when they're long enough.
